Introduction.
In this world, there are a lot of teaching methods. In Japan, fiercely competitive entrance examination exists. Therefore, teachers tend to teach English for the entrance examination to their students. That kind of English teaching doesn’t make a point of communicative competence or pronunciation but make a point of grammar or reading ability. It is said that Japanese know the rule of English structure; however, they can’t use or speak English fluently. That phenomenon of English teaching in Japanese school causes this strange situation. To be able to communicate with others, many teaching methods have been produced for years. Here, I focused the popular world’s known way of teaching, Communicative Language Teaching. To tell what Communicative Language Teaching is like, I explain the example of Communicative Language Teaching in the first chapter along “Techniques and Principles in Language Teaching,” which is the book by Diane Larsen-Freeman. In the second and third chapter, I mention pros and cons of Communicative Language Teaching.
