    Introduction.
     In this world, there are a lot of teaching methods. In Japan, fiercely competitive entrance examination exists. Therefore, teachers tend to teach English for the entrance examination to their students. That kind of English teaching doesn’t make a point of communicative competence or pronunciation but make a point of grammar or reading ability. It is said that Japanese know the rule of English structure; however, they can’t use or speak English fluently. That phenomenon of English teaching in Japanese school causes this strange situation. To be able to communicate with others, many teaching methods have been produced for years. Here, I focused the popular world’s known way of teaching, Communicative Language Teaching. To tell what Communicative Language Teaching is like, I explain the example of Communicative Language Teaching in the first chapter along “Techniques and Principles in Language Teaching,” which is the book by Diane Larsen-Freeman. In the second and third chapter, I mention pros and cons of Communicative Language Teaching.
    Chapter 1: What is Communicative Language Teaching?
     We learned in a class that there is the language teaching called Communicative Language Teaching. What is Communicative Language Teaching? In her book, “Techniques and Principles in Language Teaching,” Diane Larsen-Freeman explains that Communicative Language Teaching “aims broadly to apply the theoretical perspective of the Communicative Approach by making communicative competence the goal of language teaching and by acknowledging the interdependence of language and communication.”
